Highly recommend Capt JJ! He is organized, knowledgeable, attuned to safety and fun. We had a great day fishing on his awesome boat— he has great equipment, the boat is clean and there’s a heated cabin to stay warm and dry. We saw plenty of wildlife but most importantly caught a ton of fish. In fact caught the fish of a lifetime— a 50lb King salmon that turned out to be a rare Ivory King! The entire experience was amazing and family friendly! Thanks Capt JJ and Dawn for making our trip to Sitka memorable!

This is the charter to pick! JJ has a wealth of knowledge and experience that he was more than willing to share with us. It's easy to see the care that he has for his city and the ecosystems surrounding the island and we felt like we learned so much on this boat. Humble and hardworking, he's spent his life on the sea and knew exactly where to look to find wildlife. We got to see whales, sea lions, sea otter and more. Booking was a breeze with Dawn as well. These are wonderful people we hope to book with again soon!

Captain JJ offers a full service fishing and wildlife experience. My husband, 3 sons and I had the opportunity to catch King Salmon. 2 out of the 5 we caught were big enough to keep. He helped us get the fish to a processor and shipped back home. JJ also took us to view a wildlife island where we saw bald eagles, puffins, and so many other cool birds. We saw a whale in the distance, sea lions and otters, too. Captain JJ is an awesome tour guide and he knows all the local history. We had the best time and it was worth every penny. Book your trip, you won’t be disappointed.

JJ is an excellent guide, and offers a wealth of knowledge of the Sitka area. We booked last year with JJ, and returned this year for more! JJ’s boat is clean, well maintained, and serves as a testament to the pride he takes in his work. We look forward to booking with JJ again next year!

JJ is a stud fisherman that has great equipment and a fantastic boat. Our Salmon fishing experience was exactly what we had hoped for. My boys and I will definitely be making a trip back to Sitka for another fishing trip. Process for shipping our catch home was super easy and JJ took care of it all. Thanks JJ!!

JJ was a great fishing guide! He was waiting for us when we got off our cruise ship, and kept us out until everyone in our group had a chance to reel a fish in. We definitely recommend this fishing service!

Went fishing with JJ last week and had a great time! It was me, my dad, and my 8 year old son and it could not have been a better experience. We got our salmon in about an hour so we were able to go after rock fish. Ended up with bonus lingcod to bring home. Together I think we caught 10 fish for the 6 hour trip. I HIGHLY recommend JJ and we will be back for a return trip!

We had a great time fishing with Captain JJ! He is very knowledgable about the area and knows where the fish are! We had the experience of a lifetime! If you want to see the best of Sitka AND catch some beautiful King Salmon... Hook, Line & Sitka is your charter! Not only did we all catch our limit, but we saw orcas, sea lions, seals and sea otters! Worth EVERY PENNY!

Had an amazing experience fishing with Captain JJ! He’s incredibly friendly, professional, and knows these waters inside and out. Safety was a priority, and his honesty and expertise made the whole day smooth and enjoyable. The boat was clean, warm, and comfortable — a huge plus out on the water. One thing I really appreciated was how clean-cut and easy the process was for getting our fish home. JJ works directly with Sitka Sports Caught Seafood, which handles all the packaging and shipping. You can choose FedEx or Alaska Airlines cargo — the latter offers refrigeration both on the flight and at select airports when your fish arrives. It’s seamless I caught my very first fish ever — and not just any fish, but a gorgeous king salmon! I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to fishing Sitka waters. Thank you, Captain JJ, for making Erik and I first trip out in Sitka unforgettable. Even though I was sick the entire time, I genuinely enjoyed catching all that fish — what a day! Of note; this charter is salmon fishing only, but trust me — that’s exactly what we were there for, and JJ delivered. 10/10 recommend!

This was a bucket list item from my dad (age 84). He has gone fishing for years with 'the guys', but during our multi-generational cruise to Alaska he wanted desperately to give this experience to his 8 grandkids! We were able to coordinate with one of the captains 3 fishing boats so all 16 of us (my parents, my siblings and our spouses, and our 8 kids) could all have an amazing day of deep sea fishing. What a memory! We had a great time and my dad could not stop smiling! HIGHLY recommend Hook, Line, & Sitka!
